Stray field plot of a NMR magnetNMR / Magnet, stray field shielding
Magnetic shielding against NMR stray fields is required to reduce strong magnetic fields of NMR’s, mostly to keep the area around the magnet below 5 gauss (500 µT). However, the application of the magnetic shield is not limited to influence only the 5 gauss line. With aid of the Systron PowerShield® stray field shielding system, other goals of limiting the stray fields can also be achieved.
With the Systron PowerShield® stray field shielding system, stray fields of both, shielded and unshielded NMR’s are attenuated. Prior to any shielding work, Systron performs 2D and/or 3D FEM (Finite Element Modeling) software simulation to determine the thickness and the appropriate shielding area. Typical use of the shielding measures is to maintain the 5 gauss line as required in publicly accessible areas.
